Last month Google has started a new service Google Voice. This service allows calling on any phones. Google reserved more than 1 million numbers for this goal. However, Americans only can use the service, people from others countries have not got the same access. As for iPhone, Apple has rejected the application allowing to use Google Voice. They have said that the Google Voice apps “duplicate features that come with the iPhone”. Moreover, Apple has deleted all Google applications from AppStore. Read the rest of this entry »

At last! I test it already and have no trouble with it.

All you need is unlocked iPhone 2g/3g (no 3gs) or iPod with 3.0 firmware, five minutes of free time, and you have Cydia on your Apple Device
Try it:

Turns out all you need is an old PDA keyboard, the iPhone 2.0 SDK, and a dream. Okay, that, plus tons of smarts and hackery. Hey, at least this one isn’t as hard as the previous workaround we saw. Says Ars Technica:
The work is built on a 1200 baud modem that connects to the iPhone via the headphone port. This allows two-way transmission of data using frequency shift keying, the same method used in early modems. This modem was modified to accept input from infrared and USB connected devices, allowing the use of a keyboard. Further, a 2.0 SDK-compliant terminal app enables text input. iPhone 3.0 is coming summer.
And while the baseband IS updated in this firmware (so if you’re yellowsn0w unlocked, DON’T upgrade til a proper PwnageTool version is out), 3.0 is already jailbroken, so say the Dev Team on a recent blog post.
Quote:
| And for those wondering, yes the 3.0 OS is jailbreakable on all devices. It’s just those using 3G yellowsn0w that have to show some restraint and wait for PwnageTool to create a custom IPSW that avoids the baseband update. |
We’ll let you know ASAP when a version of PwnageTool which works with 3.0 is out, but rest easy knowing the devices are already ready for WinterBoard and all your favorite jailbreak apps right next to Apple’s 100 new 3.0 features.

The iPhone Dev Team hackers have been teasing their redsn0w iPod touch jailbreak for what seems like forever now, but those you tired of waiting might want to check out the just-released NitroKey Slipstream. The $15 software does its thing on the 2.2.1 firmware, and automatically installs Cydia for all that jailbroken app action you crave — including the new paid apps store. Windows-only for now, but there’s apparently a Mac version in the works — hopefully we’ll see the free redsn0w take the lead back on that front. Report back if you take the plunge, would you?

, As you can hear users of jailbroken phones and the developers who cater to them now have an avenue for commerce in apps: the Cydia Store. Smoking Apples visits the store and has a solid rundown, noting that Amazon Payments is the only funding source for the moment (PayPal is on the way, says Cydia lead Saurik/Jay Freeman). Users who update to the latest version of Cydia on their phones get the store capability automatically; if your phone isn’t already jailbroken, though, you’ll have to jailbreak it and install Cydia.
The limited number of apps on the store versus the overwhelming bounty of the official App Store may help users find the apps they truly want, says SA. Freeman has a list of apps queued up for release over the next few weeks before he begins accepting unsolicited submissions.

By information from Electronic Frontier Foundation - Apple officialy says: iPhone jailbreaking is is illegal.
Anyway, whatever Apple said - people does not stop to jailbreak. Jailbreak is a good apps and good view. Jailbreak is convenient.
Fred von Lohmann (EFF senior staff attorney) make nice analogy with automobile industry, you buy a car and can make with it what you want to do, you can buy official vendor tires or second hand, you can mod your car, you can do what you want. Why you can`t do this with your iPhone? Its a nonsense!
You buy this phone, and its your property, and what Apple want if it does not make iPhone full functional device? If it allow cool apps to go in cydia people stop to jailbreak. I jailbreak because i need mySMS and Intelliscreen and Cycoder and some other cool stuff which have no hope to go in app store.
And most of people think same way, 1 500 000 of jailbreaked iPhones!!!! This people dislike Apple policy at all, we love this device but hate when someone talk to us what we must to buy.
I buy what I want, what I like. And I do not need permission from the apple to do with my iPhone what I want.
Do you think same way?
