Apple has just pushed out an update to iTunes, which brings the software to version 9.0.3. It still looks and acts the same as 9.0.2, but it does come with several bug fixes and improvements:
iTunes no longer ignores your “Remember password for purchases” setting.
Addresses problems with syncing some Smart Playlists and Podcasts with iPod.
Resolves a problem recognizing when iPod is connected.
Addresses issues that affect stability and performance.
We’re also guessing that the new version probably has a few references to the iPad, so all you tinkerers better get to it! The update is available via Software Update and at Apple.com.

Fring is a VoIP and chat client for your mobile phone. The service works with a handful of various networks, including Skype, AIM, MSN Messenger and Twitter. You can even make calls to landlines from your SkypeOut and SkypeIn account and place voice calls to your Skype and Fring address book.

Today, Fring is taking its iPhone app to the next level by bringing support for video chat. Nokia added this feature to some of its devices last week, and the new version of Fring is now in the app store. Fring is free and you can grab it here (iTunes link). That means the iPhone/iPod Touch can now accept incoming Skype Video Calls! This can lead to a bunch of ways to monitor something as well. Read the rest of this entry »

T-Mobile Austria made a mistake today with a listing for a 32 GB iPhone on their website (image above). Just more confirmation that the next generation iPhone will be available with extra memory. The T-Mobile web crew probably was preparing their system for the 32 GB option and accidentally set it for live. After the error was discovered it was quickly corrected.

A scoop from Ars suggests that developers have found Voice control features in the new 3.0 software. There are Voice Control preferences within International preferences.
There have been found several function calls to Voice Control features. This has been code-named “Jibbler”.
This can be further seen as the new iPod Shuffle features. Also, Voice dialing can be on the list of features to expect. Jibbler is kept secret from third party developers which gives a possibility of showing up this feature in future iPhone hardware releases.

Qualcomm’s fledgling FLO TV service might be on to something this time. President Bill Stone’s announced plans to offer mobile broadcast to phones via add-on peripherals, including an iPhone 3.0-compatible antenna /chip accessory that’s currently in the works, although without an estimated release window (Business Insider suggests it’ll be ready sometime next year). The company’s also looking into accessorizing Windows Mobile phones, either with a plug-in or some device that connects over Wi-Fi / Bluetooth. Seeing as the latest comScore statistics say less than one percent of all phone users watch mobile broadcast TV, which at the moment has to come built-in, this could prove to be a boon for the service — assuming Q or the carriers can do something about those excessive pricing plans or fierce competition from Sling.

There’s a story at Click2Houston (I would have embedded the video if I had that option) about iPhone users who have had their devices ruined by excessive exposure to sweat. Specifically, they’ve been bringing them to the gym to provide a soundtrack to their workouts. Of course, sweat leaks into the iPhone’s two moisture sensors (one in the headphone jack, one in the docking port) and it stops working. From the article: Read the rest of this entry »
