Can you Make a new firmware to replace the iPhoneOS with UbuntuOS. You should probably do a windows mobile version too.

Really good new, it will be christmass if soon i can use xp on iphone 3GS! i am blind and there are many software for us on xp, i can use barcodes with speech to recognize all products, if i can use this software with bluetooth barcode on iphone, i’ll able to purchase and recognize items in the shop directly as anybody! At yet, it is impossible for us! Thank you for good work, i hope! Olivier

Why not try some modern Linux distro instead of dinosaur win95?

What I don’t see is this OS taking calls. Call me crazy but dose it work at all or would you have to go back to OS 3.0 or what have you to send and receive calls. Yes I know that it’s slow but why on earth would yo choose 95 of all things and lastly is this just a skin that’s running like they did with the PSP running XP? I’m still not convinced.

Re:ssidhacker. - I agree, looking forward to seeing some sort of dual boot like you can do on computers, but booting from separate iPhone partitions, dual booting has been done before, 3.0 and 95 would be awesome

Would be extremely nice to see a source code for this as it will hopefully be released on jailbreak repositories soon anyway. Can imagine a stripped down linux with a virtual keyboard would be great even just text based although a custom UI would be interesting and would beat the iPhone Linux project to the point I wonder if networking works, wifi maybe?

2)повыкручиваться перед друзьями самое главнoе ^^

I don’t trust that you’ve actually got XP to work, but I believe that if you ran a virtual machine (an emulator, like you said) that 95 would work on the iPhone, you know, exactly like it is now - that is, really freaking slow.

Could you create an Application for Windows 95 so People can get the feeling on their iphone and even ipod touch ?

That looks about like how it would perform on a low-end 486. I’m excited to see how it works on the 3GS, given Anandtech’s metaphorical comparison of the upgrade being similar to that of the 486 to the Pentium. What do you guys need to make that happen? Enough money to buy the 3GS, or what?

One or two month later we continue experiments.
