Future of Palm… where is?

graphs Shares of Palm fell more on 2 percent after Apple Inc closed a loophole in iTunes that had allowed the iTunes to be synchronized with Palm’s Pre phone like as iPhone.

On Wednesday, Apple Inc released their update of iTunes - meant to fix software bugs and “addresses an issue with verification of Apple devices.” Its mean than only Apple devices can be sync with it, at last legal.

“It also disables devices falsely pretending to be iPods, including the Palm Pre. As we’ve said before, newer versions of Apple’s iTunes software may no longer provide syncing functionality with unsupported digital media players,” said Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr.

A market immediately response and low cost of Palm shares.

This function was main marketing feature - syncronisation possibility mean that Palm users has access to all content of Apple iTunes Store.
But now this opportunity are gone.

Looking back at Palm history, we can say that “Palm Pre” is one of the last chances for Palm. Good days are gone long ago

So lets be honest: Palm are dead. If main marketing feature of this product was compatibility with main competitor store… its realy deep shit.

What can i say, only GREAT manager can rise that giant back on his foot. May be they not found it, but better they are… Because competition on the market give features for customers.

It was a stupid move for Palm to tout iTunes syncing as a selling point. I believe they rushed the phone out. They didn’t come out with their own software for device management, so your choices were either 1) USB hard drive style uploading of media, or 2) hoping it would still sync using iTunes. Now your choices are cut in half. Apple is well within its rights to shake the Pre off of iTunes’ leg. Palm needs to make their own sync/media management software, make their own rebirth. Don’t lean on the bigger company without asking first if they aren’t going to sidestep and let you fall on your face.
