These are the step-by-step instructions on how to jailbreak the OS 3.0 Please read this first. It is wise to read the entire step-by-step instructions once first, before you proceed with the actual procedure

Please be aware of the risks. Installing the jailbreak is for your own risk and you must be aware that this procedure can go wrong. Functions on the iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS that don’t work anymore, after the procedure are not our fault.

Step 1
Make sure you have iTunes 8.2 installed
Step 2
Download:
1. RedSn0w: Mirror 1, Mirror 2 (Torrent)
2. OS 3.0 for 3G
Step 3
Create a new folder on your desktop called RedSn0w and move everything inside of it ( redsnow.exe and OS 3.0 you just downloaded )
Step 4
Connect iPhone to your computer and lunch iTunes. In the left pane in iTunes select iPhone. Now on the main iPhone window in iTunes. Hold down the SHIFT key and click on restore. Browse to the RedSnow folder on your desktop and select the firmware file (.ipsw) and hit open. Now iTunes will start restoring your iPhone firmware to iPhone OS 3.0.
Step 5
Once your iPhone is restored, open redsnow.exe . From RedSn0w click the Browse button and browse to the iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw file in RedSnow folder.

Step 6
Now RedSn0w will begin to verify the FW. When its done just click on Next. On the next screen, you should check where it says “Install Cydia” and then click Next to continue the process.

Step 7
Make sure your iPhone is connected and than TURN IT OFF.

On the next screen, you need to browse and select the bootloader files you just downloaded . Just hit browse and navigate to the redsn0w folder you created on your desktop. MAKE SURE you put the right BL file in the right box.

Make sure your iPhone is connected and than TURN IT OFF.

Step 10
Now RedSn0w will guide you through the step you need to take in order to put your iPhone into the DFU mode. You know, hold the home button than home+ power than release power button.
If you mess it up, dont worry you can do it again and RedSn0w will prompt you with a message letting you know that you fucked it up.

Step 11
Now that you got your iPhone into the DFU mode, RedSn0w will begin the actual jailbreaking process. Your iPhone will reboot and the process takes a while. So you can take a cigg break. When the process is complete, RedSn0w will let you know. Enjoy your new JB’d iPhone 2G using OS 3.0.
